Thing 17 and Thing 18 images

Yes I do use flickr but in my private life (as much as private means anything onto the www!), and of course try my best to use the CC images there, but it is unfortunate to see how poor the collection is then. For example at the Language Centre, the OPAL students (our very intensive language learning class) have to do a presentation at the end of the year. The subjects vary, mine was about Modest Mussorgsky, some do a presentation about Fellini's films, the treaty of Versailles, Serge Gainsbourg, etc...

I also use Pinterest, I find it very nice, though of course I imagine many of the pictures are in the wild when it comes to copyright... I make sure most of the pictures there are either taken by me (from my personal flickr account)... or are promoting local businesses

Below is a picture of a librarian from the past... having said that, I would love to continue developing a card index as well as electronically cataloguing as you never know... terrorism of the future might be online (I sincerely hope not!)

(I had a look at the guide to correctly cite US National Archives' so here we go... I hope I am now quoting this properly... and you can understand why I prefer to take my own pictures!)

Interesting to see though... that there is no mention of the person in the picture... does she mind that she is now on my blog? Some civilisations think that taking their picture, it is taking their soul... but hopefully she does not mind...
