Thing 23 what I have learned
Hm... what I have learned... I have learned a lot from the others on the project and it has been interesting to read others' comments, especially from researchers. And to see, also, quite simply, that some researchers are making the most of the www.
Though the project was not adapted to my needs (I'm a Librarian and I'm a Language Centre Librarian i.e. dealing with a lot of non-English material) I found it very well done and I learned a lot. It was a great idea to do this talk on Twitter, so now I'm following even more people on Twitter!
I have learned also well... that most of the web 2.0 sites mentioned I have already used and use them for something particular which is for a Language Centre Library. Language learning is, I would think, always linked with the latest technology as we have language labs in most language learning centres using the latest on the web, weither it is for flashcards (quizlet, memrise, etc...) news on line (netvibes) blogs (this one about Russian)
But yes, there is always room for learning, as it's part of everyone's job really today to continue learning. I do not consider myself applying for a job position because I love my job! (and anyway, not many Librarians at Oxford tend to jump from one job to another as we can see elsewhere... it takes time to build trust and a proper collection!)

Goal | Action to be taken | Measure of success | When will this be done? | Completed? |
- My goals? Understand more, and adapt, to copyright laws in the www. I do admit I find copyright with images (still, moving) difficult! Continue to read the 1709 blog, continue to read the JISCMAIL on copyright (as I speak there's a talk on Pinterest that states it would be a risk to post books' covers without permission)
- My semi-personal goals: to pass my Russian OPAL exam and make the most of e-flashcards to learn new vocabulary, make (moderate) use of grammatical quizzes
- Explore other sites you mentioned I am not using or that I'm not using well: Prezi and RSS feeds for my own professional readings. I have a Google Reader but find the amount of information a bit too much! To be done this academic year.
- Measure of success to make sure I abide to copyright laws on the www. to pass my Russian exam (Trinity Term) and get at least 50%.
