Inventory control II

oh oh... it is really a painful experience in a way: all the booboos of yesteryears are coming up to the surface...

I only did a part of the DVD collection, up to the beginning of the English section (EFL V BRO) and I get... 67 anomalies... most of them about being misplaced but...7 "not in the database" so probably 7 DVDs not catalogued.

I'm glad I took the slow route and do not scan too many items at once. This way, I can correct all mistakes daily.

DVDs not put right in the shelves... someone has been mixing up their Cantonese with their Mandarin Chinese...

Then, after the video section, I will attack the

lending book section (without literature and other readers): which is... in alphabetical order by title.

And, if time allows, the CD section (shelfmarks are from AF CF 1 to ZU CC 1-2)

Day 2 of scanning. In the morning I get a report for 26 anomalies with 3 DVDs not catalogued at all.

so far I have done 3 original cataloguings for documentaries (ie there was no record to copy and adapt from) and 6 copy-cataloguing, mostly films.

So far so good... it's really best to do a bit every day.

Scanning all those DVDs also, gives me ideas about my next #loveourcollections in our Language Centre blog for example the great novels we have that have been adapted to the cinema.
