My conclusions

It has been great to receive a bursary from the ARLG London and South East network as otherwise I would not have been able to make it! The conference was very well organised, every talk, session running on time and the diner at the Baltic absolutely delicious. It has been a great opportunity to meet and speak with so many other librarians from all over the place: from the Isle of Man to Newcastle, the "other place" (Cambridge University), librarians from the private, public and academic sectors. I am now back at work, full of ideas and useful tips that I will use in due time once my Пятилeтка project (five year plan) is over (which is to make my library lending for all at Oxford University).
I think, like many other one-person library that some of the presentations were perhaps not fully adapted: what to do indeed when you are just one instead of 20 members of staff? There is a bit of "survival" librarianship going on when you are doing everything on your own (from budgeting, cataloguing, classifying... to promoting, teaching, web 2.0ing...) but all workshops had something to offer, and the talks were truly inspiring.
