Thing 8 RSS feeds
"Do you view RSS feeds as a useful tool in keeping up to date? Do you think you will use them in future?"
After some trainings, some donkey's years ago (was it at the first All Libraries Conference at Oxford?) I did set up a RSS feed on Google... and did use it for a while but not anymore... reasons for my failure? Perhaps I did not filter enough and was submerged by the amount of information... I should have another try really...
However, I really like Netvibes and have set up a page for the library, it is very foreign language friendly and it does look nice... but most importantly it does present you with the latest news for all the languages we teach here at the Language Centre (and this is a great web 2.0 site... once it is set up, not much further work required...:-)
