Tour of the Language Centre
We then for a tour of the Language Centre and spent time in the library, that is very similar to ours.
They have about the same numbers of languages on offer (177 there, 190 here) and similar numbers in their printed collection.
The library is reference only compared to ours where all non-reference materials can be borrowed.
Their e-collection however is larger with more language learning material on-line, including a very impressive collection of Open Courseware
Like me, Emma, the librarian, is also keeping some cassettes when there is nothing else available but she is going towards modernising the collection.
There is perhaps less choice of books at Cambridge, but all are recent, and have neat language learning material packs (book + audio or video material)
