Trends and policy issues for languages in the UK

Jocelyn Wyburd provided an overview of the latest data on the take-up of languages at school, including GCSE and A level and admissions to universities to study languages. A very grim portrait indeed. Language Centres’ role is an important one in shaping the future of languages and we are encouraged to work closely with University departments in order to influence policies and get a better image in the language world.
