Thank you!
Thank you Glasgow Librarians!
It was a fantastic trip and I was very touched by the time and effort spent by all the library staff to show me their spaces.
A few first impressions:
- The passion each library staff had for their space and their job
- The inventiveness of doing things even with limited resources
- The spot-on responses to the need of their readers by creating services/collections that will be used
- And as usual with most library staff: the sharing of information with other librarians so that we can learn from each others.
As usual it makes me proud to do this profession, and I hope my library or myself will soon incorporate some of the ideas collected in Glasgow.
So merci beaucoup to Silvia Harris, Goethe Institut, Patrick Landri, Alliance Francaise, Dawn Vallance and Alison, Mitchell Library
And finally Fionna Black, Language Resource Library, University of Glasgow, who had the kindness to organise all this!
I add here a picture of my library, not sure if it is a present but well, here it is.
