Visit to Jussieu Language Centre

Last time I was in Paris (my home town) I went to visit the Department of Languages at Jussieu University

A few of their staff came to visit us at Oxford University and I thought it was a good idea to visit them in return!

The centre in itself is quite different from our centre as it looks more like say, Manchester University Language Centre with classrooms arranged alongside corridors.

I have to say I really liked the style, looks like some parts of Orly Airport!

Then I was shown some language labs which are going to be revamped as language classes.

There were many "mini-libraries" here and there, and a few magazines

But then I was taken to the main library, on the ground floor, a nice, modern, full of light and new materials library.
with a good collection of graphic novels in French and English, world literature

and a very important section for learning English for examinations such as the TOEIC.

A good collection for students wishing to study or work elsewhere.

The notices were very clear and there was also good marketing of new materials available in the library:
important stuff! (though I tought they were candies at first and wanted one!) useless yet important stuff that makes a library very pretty

Games available to play in the library. We also have games here like the French Scrabble! (no one has been that courageous so far)

And here we are! Mille merci à toute l'équipe de Jussieu!

[Apologies: there used to be a lot of pictures but due to a blog move, the pictures went]
